Ask the Expert: Gathering Feedback New Haven CT

When testing a new product or service, get as much feedback as you possibly can from the people who are your most desirable customers. Then take all that with a grain of salt. With BabyLegs we'd get people asking for all different designs and colors, sometimes we'd make the product that they asked for, but the sales were incredibly low.

Ask the Expert: Gathering Feedback

Q: I have begun the process of starting a business and now I'm stuck. I have my finished prototype, but I'm not sure what to do next. I believe I need to let people use my prototype now. Is that correct?

ND: Congratulations on getting a prototype! It can be quite a process to get the right design. Now that you have the prototype, absolutely let people test it out. Gather as much feedback as you can. Create a standard questionnaire with questions about the comfort of the design, and suggestions to make it better, the color that they would like, how much would they pay for it, where would they expect to buy it, would they use it, would they recommend it to others? Then if they would recommend it to others, ask who and if they would be willing to test it.

Please let us know how this goes!

There's a certain amount of instinct that you must draw on to be successful. Trust your gut!
