Cookies for a Cause Hazel Park MI

Fall is around the corner which means exciting things to come – back to school, sports, clubs, PTA meetings and the countless other activities that fill up our calendars. With all these school and social events also comes a tremendous amount of opportunity to help others in need. With September being Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, I can’t think of a better time to start planning a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer bake sale than now.

Fall is around the corner which means exciting things to come – back to school, sports, clubs, PTA meetings and the countless other activities that fill up our calendars. With all these school and social events also comes a tremendous amount of opportunity to help others in need. With September being Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, I can’t think of a better time to start planning a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer bake sale than NOW!

Cookies for Kids' Cancer was created by the parents of a boy named Liam, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a deadly form of pediatric cancer at the age of 2. Through the concept of local bake sales, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer provides the inspiration and support for individuals, communities, and businesses to help fight this disease. Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 18 and yet is severely underfunded for research.

The first ever Cookies for Kids’ Cancer bake sale involved 250 volunteers and 96,000 cookies, raising more than $400,000. Nothing like setting the bar high but I love a good challenge!

So pull out those mixing bowls and join the fight. Every bake sale, small or big, goes a long way in helping these children in the fight for their lives. To find out how to host a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer bake sale and to read about the children who are the inspiration behind this cause visit their website cookiesforkidscancer .
